\nI chose this quote because it has very true meaning and can be easily related to everyday life. It means that if a group of people cannot get along and work together the result or goal that they are working towards will not be reached. This is easy to relate to everyday life at home, in school, or in sports. This applies to situations where you are working on a project in school as a group or trying to win a team sport. You will not accomplish your goals if you cannot collectively work together.","dateCreated":"1271990694","smartDate":"Apr 22, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"Dale-DoZACK","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/Dale-DoZACK","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"23205535","body":"6. \nhey mr,s lents whats up?
\nokay,
\nthe reason i choose this quote is because i personally like it, and its not cliched.
\nthis quote basically means, that a house( family, Friends, Band, just relationships in general) they cant survie if they are divied. We all need to be unified, and together as brother and sister if we were to love each another ( the golden rule). if we stick together and just cared about eachother, i think things would be so much better, there would be no war, it would be a Utopia of peace, and love. but unfortunately where there is light, there is shadow. So how can this be implimented and used into everyday life?
\nif you want and strive for a world of peace love, and yeah all the good stuff. each of us should stick together, and not be separated, from your family, friends, community, you name it. Remain strong and stand against the deadly wind. with all the wieght and glue ( numbers and close relationships) "supporting" your house(family, your dreams, your future, etc.) it shall stand tall against the strong wind that wishes to blow it over.
\na large house tightly compacted would stand stronger than a house divided.","dateCreated":"1271994176","smartDate":"Apr 22, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"donnyvan","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/donnyvan","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"23211937","body":""...not by the color of my skin but by the content of my character. ~Martin Luther King, Jr."
\nI chose this quote because its very memorable and still needs to be put to use today. These days, people put too much weight on a persons appearance or their beliefs. They're letting their opinions of these things rule their opinion of the person, causing them to never really get to know someone. People in general, espically teenagers, need to stop judging by appearance or petty beliefs(not saying religion is petty, just saying that it is not something to be judged by)and get to know a person for whole they really are.","dateCreated":"1272019068","smartDate":"Apr 23, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"JFogle","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/JFogle","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"23223135","body":" A house divided against itself cannot stand. ~ Abraham Lincoln
\n
\nThis quote stands out to me because I think there's a reason that family's live in the same house. I know that my family wouldn't be as strong as it is now if we were seperated. I'd be alone, and I couldn't go running to my parents everytime something didn't go the way I thought it would. I couldn't live on my own, support myself, go to school and get good grades or have the potential to do something great because I wouldn;t have had my family members constantly reminding me what "good morals" are or how to respect and treat someone. As much as we think that we can do so much without our family, and we constantly wish they would leave us alone, they are keeping us together, not ripping us apart. This also made me think about how difficult it would have been in the concentration camps also. I'm pretty sure I would have given if I was seperated from my family.","dateCreated":"1272036119","smartDate":"Apr 23, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"katie.likes.tacos","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/katie.likes.tacos","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"23223153","body":"Goodness, like evil, often begins in small steps. \nI picked this quote is because i believe that they both can start from small steps and lead into good or bad. Someone who becomes a hero can say it took time to accomplish that with earning respect from people and good morals. Although, it can also happen with evil, a great example is Hitler. He started from a low estate in Germany and worked his way up the ladder to dictator of Germany. The quote is saying that if either way you choose that it will take time and effort to reach what you want to achieve...hero or villian.","dateCreated":"1272036139","smartDate":"Apr 23, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"alleeoskin","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/alleeoskin","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"23223159","body":"...not by the color of my skin but by the content of my character. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.
\nPeople are so cruel when it comes to the color of someone's skin. This quote is so small in words but so big with its meaning. What Martin Luther King Jr. is trying to say is "Just because I'm a black man, does not mean I'm less of a person." People are all born with different colors of skin, some are lucky enough to live in a society where that is accepted and not looked down upon, others not so much. What i don't understand is why the color of someone's skin matters so much to some people. If you were blind, you wouldn't know the color of someone's skin, you could have a great relationship with this person, and when you found out they were black by a miracle that you can see again, you could instantly hate them and look at them as if they are below you. This is a terrible way to look at people, but sadly it happens everday.","dateCreated":"1272036147","smartDate":"Apr 23, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"TaylorrLucaas","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/TaylorrLucaas","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"23241397","body":"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. ~ The Golden Rule

But I don't believe that money can buy pure joy. Joy is something that comes from the heart, not out of greed or gluttony. With money comes power, and power, responsibility; and responsibility, danger. However, personal benefits depend on how you use your wealth. You can use it to fill every desire automatically, or you could be wise and use it to others' benefit as well as your own, if you choose to do so.","dateCreated":"1268102816","smartDate":"Mar 8, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"JABeckstead","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/JABeckstead","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1268089267\/JABeckstead-lg.jpg"}},{"id":"21274599","body":"yes money can make you happy, but only if you spend it right.
